Moth traps in the Corn Belt conducted in 2006 show that western bean cutworm is continuing to expand east into the Corn Belt. It is now an established pest of corn throughout Iowa, and has begun to appear in threshold numbers in northern Illinois and southwestern Wisconsin. Moths were trapped as far east as Indiana, Michigan and Ohio in 2006.
